Mel.. Mel.. Mel.

You see, I just don't subscribe to the belief that recordings of a private telephone conversation, made during or after a break up, should be made available for entertainment.

Now let's just think about this for a moment.

Regardless of how famous or un-famous the people are, regardless of how much money they have, it just doesn't seem right to me that taped conversations can be broadcasted around the world either through the media or the internet n a way that appears to be socially acceptable.

The Mel Gibson/Oksana tapes have absolutely fuck all to do with you, me or anybody else on the planet. It should be made illegal for anyone to have a hand in the recording of a telephone conversation without permission, or the broadcasting of the audio, or the quoting of what was said or anything else to do with such a delicate and private matter that is millions of light years away from being in the public interest.

Surely someone can argue that human rights are being abused here? There must be a legal issue and if there isn't, then the law makers need to get to work and do what is right to protect our human dignity and privacy when someone decides to take an audio snapshot of our 'off moments' for dollars or for some form of spite or revenge.

The response to the tapes varies from person to person and I've read all kinds of 'analyses' on the events. But here's one thing I need to make very clear.. my family have said far far worse things than Mel Gibson has and if some of those conversations had been broadcast... they would have made Mel Gibson look like an absolute Saint!

If we took at all the books and music and movies we have stacked on our shelves and removed those where someone involved in their production had done something contemptible, we'd be able to fit what's left in our pockets!
